Thinker's Village

Glenna Gordon (friend and photojournalist) has a cool photo-essay on BBC's website about the Liberian love of teddy bears here, as well as gorgeous pics from our last Sunday expedition to Thinker's Beach here. The girls in #2 and #4 might look suspicious like Anais and I because they are. The pics below are snapshots from me and Anais, the same day.

LEAD & Partners Worldwide

In Liberia, I worked with a local microfinance NGO called LEAD - Liberia Entrepreneurial & Asset Development. LEAD is Liberian-owned and staffed, and offers business training, mentoring, and asset-building loans to small and medium-size businesses in Liberia. This helps to create jobs and assist Liberians in the rebuilding of their economy following an extended civil war. My internship was sponsored by Partners Worldwide, a faith-based, non-profit organization working to promote job creation and economic growth in areas of need around the world.
